The current Nissan Altima Hybrid

The high end model of the 2010 Nissan Altima fleet is the 3.5 SR edition. Offered with a V-6 engine, 17 inch alloy wheels, enhanced suspension, Bluetooth and iPod ports, sunroof, new xenon headlamps, optional spoilers and fog lights, it is as sporty as any car in the market. Navigation systems are available that can inform drivers of traffic conditions as well as a full weather report.

Under the hood consumers will be offered two different engines. base models get a 2.5 liter four cylinder that has a horsepower output of 175. There is also a CVT (continuously variable transmissions) one sedan models, while coupe packages come with a 6 speed manual transmission. Fuel economy for the smaller engine ranges from 23 mpg in city driving, and 32 mpg highway. For a family sedan those numbers are more than fair, but not quite the best in the market. The larger engine is a 3.5 liter V-6 that puts out 270 horsepower. Fuel economy for these models range from 20 mpg city to 27 mpg highway.

The current Nissan Altima Hybrid is counting days (well, more like months) in the U.S. as the Japanese automaker plans to drop the gasoline-electric hybrid model from its lineup at the end of the 2011 model year, according to a report from Autonews. The hybrid sedan hasn’t been much of a success for Nissan as only 35,000 units have been sold in the States since its introduction in the market in 2007.

Available body styles include both sedan and coupes. Basic models are the 2.5 that have only a few standard accessories and can easily be upgraded to consumers preferences. Basic features are cruise control, remote keyless entry, trip computers, AC, and a tilting steering wheel. Most noticeable on 2.5 models is the absence of a stereo, though the wiring and speakers are already included. The next step up is the 2.5 S trim offered on both sedan and coupe body styles. Standard features for these models include remote keyless entry, 17 inch alloy wheels, CD player, remote car starting, and convenience packages include even more features.

2.5 S models equipped with convenience packages (sedan) come with dual zone climate controls, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, satellite radio, Bose stereos, rearview cameras, and a sunroof. 2.5 SL trim models are upgraded to complete leather upholstery, heated seats for front passengers and drivers, and xenon headlamps. Consumers looking to optimize 2.5 models will do better with sedans than the limited options available for coupe models.

Aside from the somewhat disappointing sales, Nissan’s decision may also have to do with the fact that the Altima Hybrid utilizes a hybrid system sourced from rival Toyota. Nissan has since developed its own hybrid system with a new lithium-ion battery that made its debut on the 2012 Infiniti M Hybrid.

“We’ve launched our Nissan design hybrid in the M,” said Mark Perry, director of product planning at Nissan North America. Perry added that Nissan’s in-house hybrid will find its way into other vehicles of the brand. “We’re going to cascade it through where it makes sense.”

This means Nissan may be readying a new version of the Altima Hybrid equipped with its own gasoline-electric powertrain system.

2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid

Buying a hybrid car is like making a compromise to helping the world. It's a joyful experience that makes you feel great and it gives you pride in knowing that you are now part of those who don't just go around burning gas like it will last forever. However, with so many choices out there, how do you know which car to buy?

That's why I started researching all the available models out there. Here is my latest hybrid car review: The Nisssan Altima Hybrid.

The 2010 Nissan Altima Hybrid is the first attempt to break into the hybrid market from Nissan. With a 244.8v NiMH battery pack designed by Panasonic, the Altima is a hodge podge of automotive ingredients that range from Ford to Toyota. The exterior is nicely packaged and yet traditional in a specifically Nissan way.

Over all Altima hybrid provides a smooth ride, quick as well as agile. The car is sporty but it is family friendly. It is really a fun to take a ride in this car and for comforts you don't have to sacrifice the performance. The V-6 hops starting from 0 to 60 mph within 6.6 seconds.

There is a small distance between the rear and front axles, the coupe is easy to handle. The base Nissan Altima hybrid car with 4 cylinders of 2.5 L is good but now the competitors have also got sportier models of same range price. The length of Altima has been cut down by 2 inches as compared to the last model, which result in small legroom. The sedan can hold about 4 adults comfortably but the headroom as well as legroom will be small.

2012 Nissan GT-R Egoist

The Nissan GT-R's interior is driver-focused, and it does an amazing job providing a near-perfect driving experience for short periods. However, the interior is otherwise a bit on the minimalist side. The quality of what is there is quite high, and it all gives the impression of master craftsmanship. The snug sport-style bucket seats are fine for relatively short trips, but the entire experience becomes backbreaking if one pushes it. The rear seating is appropriate for no one save small children on short trips.

Nissan GT-R tuning

Last year Nissan hit one out of the park with their 2009 GT-R. It won numerous awards including the 2009 Motor Trend Car of the Year, Kelley Blue Book 2009 Best Resale Value Award and Automobile Magazine's 2009 Automobile of the Year.

With the release of the 2010 GT-R Nissan seems to have done it again. Industry professionals and auto enthusiasts alike are gushing over this new "supercar". No wonder, it looks and performs like a rocket ship and has the genetic blueprint of a racecar. Its' handcrafted 485-hp twin-turbo V6 engine can reach 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and a blistering top speed of 193 mph. The GT-R has a dual clutch 6-speed transmission with three selectable modes; normal shifting in less than 0.5 seconds, R-mode or fast shifting at 0.2 seconds and snow mode for gentler starting and shifting on slippery surfaces. The Nissan/Brembo® braking system - 4-wheel disc brakes, 15" front and rear two-piece floating-rotors with diamond-pattern internal ventilation allow the GT-R to stop as effortlessly as it accelerates. The double-wishbone front suspension and - multi-link rear suspension combined with rigid front and rear suspension subframes, give the driver a one-of-a-kind racing experience even if only driving around the corner to pick up your dry cleaning.

On top of that impressive package, the Premium trim level adds heated front seats and higher performance tires. Nissan also upgrades the audio package to an 11-speaker Bose system with dual subwoofers. There are also three options. One is the Cold Weather package including Dunlop all-season tires and a unique coolant-to-water ratio that Nissan installs at no additional charge. The "Super Silver" paint scheme and the iPod connectivity come at an additional charge.

Under the hood, the all-wheel-drive 2010 Nissan GT-R for sale includes a 3.8-liter V6 with twin-turbochargers that provides an exhilarating 485 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque. Nissan pairs the engine with a 6-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission. With this setup, the Nissan GT-R powers from 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds, and it accomplishes the quarter-mile in less than 12 seconds at a top speed near 120 mph. Not that anyone in the market for a Nissan GT-R for sale will care, but the EPA estimates fuel performance as 16 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined.

This new beauty comes with a tire pressure monitor and tauter suspension settings including cool seatbelt warning lamps and HID head lamps. Plus the car features a manual shift mode, 18 inch alloy wheels with 245-horse V-6. This model smartly slips in as a good substitute for the luxury version Infiniti FX35. The fine options of the Murano include a rear seat DVD, leather and stability control.

The first consideration, of course, is whether your particular model of vehicle has enough room to actually stretch out and sleep. I'm six feet tall and have no problem sleeping in the back of my Nissan XTerra. The best way to find out if you fit is to crawl in there and lay down! I've found that sleeping in the vehicle itself has advantages. The foremost of these is the security of being in a vehicle during a rainstorm or foul weather. Also, while I'm not averse to old fashioned tent camping, I find that the vehicle is much warmer than the cold ground. Another plus is that I don't roll over in the night to find a tree root stuck in my back

Nissan is amongst the leading car making giants which is known not only for its stylish SUV models but also for the quality make which give out fantastic performance. Nissan SUVs are selling hot even in 2010 like they did in the previous years, and most have undergone several modifications and changes, few in terms of looks and few in terms of quality upgrading.

Owning a Sports Utility Vehicle gives one access to a vast array of outdoor activities. That's right, we're talking about sleeping right there in the back of your SUV.

Detail Interior New Nissan Cube

In its second year on the market, the 2010 Nissan Cube offers bold styling, a spacious interior and a low starting price. This hatchback makes a statement. Still, the car’s design is unusual enough that some people may overlook it for that reason alone.

Some great solutions for a good nights sleep in the back of your SUV may actually be in your closet or basement right now. One of the best is a single sized futon pad. These roll-up nicely for transport and provide not only comfort but insulation on colder nights. Some campers like to use inflatable mattresses of various sizes, including the small inflatable models sold for hikers in most outfitter stores. Personally, I use a pad from a chaise lounge on my back deck. It folds well and is rugged enough for tough use. Also, the SUV makes a great base-camp for day-hikes or fishing expeditions. By using the SUV as a tent you don't need to carry a restrictive mummy bag if you don't wish. Break out the cotton sheets and sleep in comfort!

The Nissan Rogue has become a hit in Europe, but it only remains to be seen if it can weave the same magic in the rest parts of the world. This super stylish vagrant by Nissan shares the C platform with the luxurious Sentra. The cool features are its great traction - stability control and 4 wheel disc brakes with an optional yaw-moment control drive system.
